Participants leave this workshop with a clear understanding of dataset structure, and with fundamental research and data mining skills. There are no prerequisites for this workshop, but the size is limited to 15 individuals. This workshop requires a commitment to thinking at the individual and group level, with daily work in teams of 3-5. This is a 2+ day workshop that is meant for beginner to intermediate R users who are interested in incorporating the Tidyverse into their analyses and workflows. Tidyverse code is effective in saving time, reducing errors, and increasing reproducibility. Lessons build on prepared examples from participants actual base R workflows. Participants will gain proficiency in base Tidyverse packages such as tidyr, dplyr, ggplot2, lubridate, readr, and readxl. Depending on available time and need, training can also cover purr, stringr, and hms packages. Participants work independently, but cooperatively problem-solve and share progress with fellow trainees.
